About Us

Michael Foggetta is currently a fourth grade teacher and was the recipient of the Golden Apple Award for Teacher of the Year, Los Angeles Unified School District 2006. He has observed that many of the books he read with his classes lacked the ability to hold the students’ interest and attention. There is a scarcity of this type of literature and Rufus the Dufus is our solution. Kevin Sousa M.A., his writing partner, is a child psychologist and coach of the 2010 Mira Costa High School National Surfing Champions.
